Protocol.
Today the entire Kebbi State has worn a new look, today is the beginning of a new dawn in Kebbi State; today is the conclusive part of the journey we started together four years ago.
Today and here, I come to do four things:
1. To move with all of you my dear brothers and sisters away from the party of injustice and oppression to the rave of the moment, the party of equity, justice and positive change, the CPC. This cannot be done without your permission and support.
2. I come with all humility to, as a human being seek for your individual and collective understanding and forgiveness from and to each other for whatever shortcomings and errors we must have committed against one another whether in group or individually from my actions or inactions.
3. Today, I will not continue with this short speech without your forgiveness and understanding but I will not stop the speech because I know that the love you have for Shettima is deep and real to the bottom of your heart and therefore, I am not in doubt of your total overlook of our shortcomings. Today, I come to comfirm and affirm my gratitude.
4. Today, I come to ask for your skill, professionalism, ideas, hard-work and dedication in working together to make our dear State great to the envy of all.
Today, Kebbi State is on a new level, on a new and energized gear, the gear of truth, the gear of trust, the gear of consistency, the gear of sincerity, the gear of fulfiled promises, the gear of equity, the gear of justice and the gear of service to the people. All of these put us together on sure and steady motion for complete transformation to prosperity of Kebbi State.
Today, we are teaming up with the man of peace, the man of justice, the man of equity, the man who has the feelings of the talakawas and loved by the talakawas, man of honor, the man who earns his respect and derives his strength from God and the people. Today the shadow of General Muhammad Buhari is enough for all of us to rest all our fatigue from the bad government of betrayals, sadism, selfishness and cheating under the banner of the PDP as manisfested in Kebbi State since 2007.
Today is the beginning of the end of your long-suffering. Today we shall start the journey of reclaimation of our stolen mandate. Today we are unified and resolved in our irrevocable commitment of the Shettima movement for the governorship of Kebbi State come 2011 insha Allah.
With the kind of support I see here today and which I know is sincere without any mincing of words, I know that those occupying the government house of Kebbi State on a stolen mandate are already jeatery and have started parking their ill-gotten belongings from that house for your government to take over come May 29th 2011 insha Allah.
Today, I want to unveil to you my four (4) point agenda for the complete transformation of our dear State:
This is my mission:
'The administration of Kebbi State under my able leadership come 2011 is committed to responsibly building the economy of Kebbi State by creating and promoting an enabling environment for manufacturing and commerce to thrive; an integrated agricultural program that would allow for all year round produce production and processing; a massive mobilization program for empowering women and youth to be engaged in productive pursuits.
We are committed to the participative approach so that our citizens can contribute in shapping the future of our State, remain fully informed of and responsive to the development challenges facing us as a State in the Nigerian federation, and keep a check on the resources.'
MY FOUR POINT AGENDA:
EDUCATION: Today, I am assuring you of the commitment of our government to strengthen and broaden the participatory base in the actualization of a qualitative skills based basic and secondary education system that will provide a solid foundation for highly motivated students to reach their full potentials.
AGRICULTURE: Today, I reveal to you that our government would aspire to grow the economy of Kebbi State by pursuing a comprehensive agricultural development plan that seeks to exploit the State by pursuing a comprehensive agricultural development plan which seeks to exploit the abundant land, water, labor and other resources for an all-year round agricultural production integrated with agro-processing and value addition.
HEALTH: In the health sector, our government come 2011 insha Allah is going to provide accessible, affordable, qualitative and sustainable health services to the people of Kebbi State.
WEALTH CREATION: From the day we take over the mantle of government in Kebbi State, the government shall embark on massive and rapid development projects that would create wealth for all and sundry; empower women and youth; provide job oppportunities for everybody; re-energize our Civil Service to regain back their lost glory.
Today we are back together even stronger from our mistakes and omissions. This time, starting from today, we shall make our votes count. We shall cast our votes peacefully, protect our votes, guard our votes, get our votes counted in the open in accordance to the dictate of the electoral act, follow our votes to collation centers and ensure that the collated votes are announced as correctly as they were casted.
I will cast my vote, watch my vote, escort my vote and ensure that my vote counts. Today Shettima is assuring that he will do exactly as he says and he expects you all to do so to ensure that our great party sweeps all elective offices come May 2011from the presidency to the councillor.
Today, I am relieved of a burden that has been bothering my heart. The burden of guilt for your long-suffering for almost four years now. I am relieved because I believe you understand all my steps and you are willing to come along with me for the achievement of our desired goal of making Kebbi State second to none in Nigeria. Kebbi State will only be competing with itself.
Today, those at home who cannot be here with us shall be told that Shettima is appreciative of their support and seek for their understanding.
I THANK GOD FOR TODAY, I THANK YOU ALL TODAY AND TODAY IS THE BEGINNING OF A NEW LOOK FOR OUR DEAR STATE.
Long live the federal republic of Nigeria, long live Kebbi State, long live the Congress for Progressive Change.
